Senior Network Architect - Nashville Area


SUMMARY

The primary role of this position is to lead the design, evolution, and optimization of a highly available, secure, and scalable enterprise network infrastructure. This role requires advanced hands-on and architectural expertise with Cisco networking platforms, Palo Alto Networks security solutions, and F5 load balancing technologies. The ideal candidate will partner with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams to deliver resilient network solutions aligned with business and security objectives. This role will need to be on-site in Nashville 2 days per week. 



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and architect enterprise and data center network solutions supporting high availability, scalability, and performance
  • Lead network architecture initiatives involving Cisco routing, switching, wireless, and SD-WAN technologies
  • Architect and implement Palo Alto Networks firewalls, Panorama, and advanced security features (App-ID, User-ID, Threat Prevention, GlobalProtect)
  • Design and support F5 BIG-IP solutions including LTM, GTM/DNS, iRules, SSL offload, and traffic management
  • Sr. Administration level experience of InfoBlox (DNS Services)
  • Provide technical leadership for complex network migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives
  • Develop network standards, reference architectures, and best practices
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex network and security issues
  • Collaborate with cloud, application, and security teams on hybrid and multi-cloud networking designs (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Evaluate new networking technologies and provide strategic recommendations
  • Ensure network designs comply with security, regulatory, and compliance requirements

  ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mentor and guide network engineering staff
  • Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and risk assessments

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Less than 10% overnight travel when required for projects.
  • This role will need to be on-site in Nashville 2 days per week.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in network engineering and architecture
  • Strong hands-on and design experience with:
  • Cisco (Catalyst, Nexus, ASR, ISR, ISE, ACI, SD-WAN, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Palo Alto Networks (PAN-OS, Panorama, VPNs, security policies, threat prevention)
  • F5 BIG-IP (LTM, GTM/DNS, iRules, SSL, HA)
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, VPNs, and network security principles
  • Experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant network architectures
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust and modern security architectures
  • Experience in large enterprise or regulated environments

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
  • Industry certifications such as:
    • CCNP / CCIE
    • PCNSE
    • F5-CA / F5-CTS
  • Experience with network automation and scripting (Ansible, Python, Terraform)

The base salary pay range for this position is $180,000 - $220,000. Compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.  Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401k, and flexible spending.
