Contract Administrator
Summary
The Contract Administrator is accountable for a smooth, compliant contracting experience for Davenport Group's customers, with a focus on state, local, and education government (SLED) and federal accounts. As the primary point of contact for contract-related matters, this position manages the full contract lifecycle - from initial terms negotiation through execution and ongoing compliance monitoring - ensuring all agreement meet the specific procurement, legal, and regulatory requirements governing public-sector business.
This position works closely with sales, vendor partners, distributers, legal, finance, and procurement organizations. The SLED Contract Administrator ensures contract compliance, maximizes contract utilization, expands contract coverage, and drives revenue growth within the public sector marketplace.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for state and federal government customers and prospects on all contract-related inquiries, with particular attention to SLED procurement requirements.
- Oversee the daily contract lifecycle for government accounts - drafting, review, negotiation, execution, and renewal - ensuring legal accuracy and regulatory compliance at every stage.
- Manage compliance with SLED procurement regulations, contract vehicles, and cooperative purchasing agreements (e.g., NASPO ValuePoint, OMNIA, state specific contracts, staffing vehicles and GSA schedules where applicable).
- Assist the sales team in ensuring contracts, quotes/bids and supporting documentation meet the specific terms required by government purchasing entities.
- Act as a liaison between Davenport Group and government contracting officers/procurement staff for all requests related to contract terms, insurance certificates, W-9s, vendor registration, bonding, and other compliance documentation.
- Track contract compliance related to renewals, amendments, extensions, reporting requirements and certifications and proactively flag risks or gaps to sales and leadership.
- Maintain audit-ready contract files and documentation in line with government recordkeeping requirements.
- Monitors changes in SLED and federal procurement regulations that may affect existing or future contracts.
- Supports RFP/RFB and bid response processes for SLED opportunities, ensuring compliance with solicitation requirements.
- Work closely with new and existing distributors to coordinate onboarding, implementation, and management of SLED contracts across multiple distribution partners.
- Collaborate with vendor partners and States to expand contract opportunities and improve market access. This will provide the sales team with the required contracts to transact SLED business.
- Implements process improvements for government contract intake, tracking, and compliance reporting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five or move years of experience in customer onboarding on contract administration role.
- Experience working with government contracts and procurement processes, ideally including SLED.
- Familiarity with public-sector contract vehicles and cooperative purchasing programs.
- Working knowledge of government compliance requirements (e.g., insurance certificates, vendor registration, bonding reporting obligations).
- Familiarity with CRM software such as Salesforce.
- Contracts Management experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred
- Salesforce experience preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strategic thinking and continuous process improvement to develop and manage contracts throughout the entire lifecycle process.
- Working understanding of sales and business processes.
- Experience responding to or supporting government RFPs/RFBs/ITBs.
- Familiarity with SLED-specific purchasing cooperatives (e.g, NASPO ValuePoint, state term contracts, OMNIA, TIPS, Sourcewell).
Working Conditions
- Occasional domestic travel is required to build skills and attend meetings. (Less than 10%).
- Location: US Based with Southeast region preferred.

- The base salary pay range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000. Compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
